F.A.Q. Keenspot PREMIUM and Internet Explorer 6.0
INTRODUCTION WHY DOESN'T KEENSPOT PREMIUM WORK WITH IE 6.0? The problem is an artifact of the "improved" security developed by the P3P consortium. This security protocol makes it nearly impossible to set cookies from one site to another. Keenspot.org tracks your PREMIUM subscription over all 50 Keenspot domains (sinfest.net,crfh.net and so forth) using cookies and IE 6.0 implements P3P in a way that makes this process impossible without making a few changes to your IE settings. This process is a little time consuming, but should fix the problem: Step 1: Open the "Tools >> Internet Options" dialog in IE 6.0 (In other words, from the IE 6.0 menu bar, choose "Tools" and then choose "Internet Options"). Step 2: Click the "Security" tab and click the "Trusted Sites" icon. Step 3: Now, click the "Sites" button. On the "add site" screen, UNCHECK the "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" box and then add "keenspot.org" to the site list (make sure you put in .ORG). Step 4: Press "OK" until you exit the "Internet Options" dialog and point your browser to http://www.keenspot.org/premium-services/activate.pl and re-register your PREMIUM subscription. Step 5: Surf PREMIUM happily if the process was successful - and hopefully it would be. |
